RIP Ronnie James Dio, one of THEE voices of metal, a true icon, believer, and "Rainbow in the Dark!" So glad we got to see him many times over the past few years, since his return to Black Sabbath, he sounded as great as he ever did, even at age 67! We mourn your passing and celebrate your many wonderful contributions to the music world.....horns up, LOOK OUT!
We thought it only fitting to post the version of "Don't Talk to Strangers" we did back in 1999 in tribute to the man with the iron pipes! We had a blast recording this and were honored that we had the opportunity to celebrate the influence and inspiration that DIO has provided us over the years with our take on one of his classic songs from the Holy Diver record...enjoy! \m/
ION VEIN’s Beyond Tomorrow and Reigning Memories albums now available for digital download
ION VEIN guitarist/founder, Chris Lotesto, commented: “We’re very excited to announce that the long wait for our debut album, Beyond Tomorrow, to be available once again, is finally over! Beyond Tomorrow has been out-of-print since 2002, and while talks of re-issuing/re-mastering have taken place over the years, it was finally decided to make it available again in its originally recorded state. In addition to our debut, our second album, Reigning Memories, has also been made available for digital download. Both can be found at CDbaby , iTunes, Amazon, and everywhere cool music is sold on-line.”
Beyond Tomorrow was released in 1999 via Majesphere Records, and having reached some significant underground success, it helped pave the way for the band’s 2003 highly acclaimed release, Reigning Memories, which was produced/engineered and mixed by Neil Kernon (Queensryche, Nevermore, Nile). Reigning Memories was initially released via Majesphere Records in 2003 and later re-released in Europe/Asia via the UK’s Now & Then Records in 2005. Both albums feature the original ION VEIN line-up of Russ Klimczak (vocals), Chris Lotesto (guitar), John Malufka (guitar), Brian Gordon (bass), and Scott Lang (drums).

As previously reported, ION VEIN are currently finishing up their long awaited third album, once again with Neil Kernon producing.
Happy New Year, everyone, we hope it’s a very healthy, happy, and prosperous one for all of you! We’re definitely looking forward to bringin’ the VEIN to you, harder and stronger than ever in 2010!
With that being said, we’ve had to make a few adjustments in the IV family to help us do just that….and, of course, the January 29th show that was scheduled at Shark City in Glendale Heights, IL, has been canceled, sorry for any inconvenience.
The search for a killer vocalist begins again.
Ion Vein regrets to announce that we had to part ways with the lead singer whom we’ve been working with on our new album, as it became apparent that we have different approaches to achieving our goals. Good luck to you.
Saying goodbye to our longtime brother and bassist Brian Gordon.
Additionally, we regretfully must announce that Brian is no longer with the band and will be pursuing other musical projects. This was indeed a very tough decision for us, one that we deliberated on for some time, but in the end, we believe it to be the best resolution for all of us.
Chris and Chuck want to thank Brian for his many contributions to Ion Vein, including the Reigning Memories andBeyond Tomorrow albums, and the energy he brought to our live shows.
Our fans know that we have been band mates and, more importantly, friends with Brian for a long time and have done some amazing things together. We wish him the best. Rock on!
Always looking ahead, we’ll begin the next chapter by launching a search for a new vocalist to front Ion Vein, and new bassist to “carry the low,” and be back in the studio and on stage better than ever! Until then, you can always reach us here, on Twitter, Myspace, and on Facebook.
As always, thanks for your continued support. You guys are the best!
See you soon! \m/
